08/31/2018 Glass curtain walls must be carefully installed on site, using a variety of equipment and tools to complete the job. Let’s tall today about CRANES.
A compact crane is much more efficient to use to install a glass curtain wall than a large crane. Their small size allows them to be placed on the completed floors above the work area, and they can work more quickly and efficiently than a large crane. The operator usually has a much better view of the work area and can operate the crane based on his sight, not having to rely on verbal directions from others.
Typically, the glass panels will be delivered to the correct floor on pallets by a large crane or some other material hoist. They are attached to the small crane by workers, at which point they are hoisted and rolled into location. While the crane supports the panel, the workers below connect the fasteners between the panel and the building structure. When the panel is fastened, the crane will release the load and the cycle repeats itself.
