04/27/2018_Excited to partner with Pritzker Prize-winner Richard Rogers as one of the leading architects of the British High-Tech movement on this elegant building for the prestigious all-girls eight-story athletic facility at the Spence School. Thanks to the Walsh Glass & Metal and Gilbaine for selecting AZA INT as part of the team together with Front as façade consultant. For the intricate and sophisticated glass design AZA INT has been contracted in a design assist format to support the team due to their vast experience on glass walls and to supply the building envelope.
The building at 412 E. 90th St., between York and First avenues, is meant to hold the all-girl school’s athletics programs since it currently bounces from facility to facility across the city. The north façade curtain-wall system consists primarily of 26’-0” vertical mullion spans and glass units within these vertical spans are primarily 13’-0” tall units of glass, with butt-joint horizontal glazing joints at the midpoint vertically.
