THE 239 10th AVENUE PROJECT
The Architect Peter Marino, known as “the leather daddy of luxury”designed the 239 Tenth Avenue building in New York City, located at the old Getting Station Site and conceived as a “building with sex appeal”.
The 239 10th Avenue project will be a 12-story residential luxury building, eight-apartment black bronze-strapped glowing box. The developer has long been planning a building made for art collectors, and the details of the project at an Architectural Digest panel in Miami stay true to that.
The property will have “eight unique homes” over 12 floors, meaning the building will be between 11 and 12 stories, due to the zoning of the High Line district, they will be big and that at least a few will be duplexes. The building will be a collection of residences that will be uniquely designed;they will be larger units from two-bedrooms to four-bedrooms.
In this prestigious context, AZA INT was awarded to supply the building envelope. AZA INT supported, in a Design Assist phase, the Architect and Consultant Teams helping them to define all the details and the technical issues to obtain a very prestigious result. The building is characterized by a curtain wall system that plays with different shapes for both dimensions and heights, varying from single to double height unit, different materials as glasses of various colors, aluminum and steel. A refined cladding system will be obtained using an aluminum black bronze colored material is applied at each slab level and some of the curtain wall units.
The aluminum system profile used will be a special Wicona system properly designed and created for this project for both curtain wall units and sliding doors at terrace level.
AZA INT will produce about 20.000 sqf of curtain wall units completed with allnecessary fittingsand about 7.500 sqf of aluminum cladding. At terrace level, special panoramic sliding doors, about 4.000 sqf, are designed.
AZA INT will deliver the material to the job site and the installation of the materials will be in charge of Walsh Glass & Metal Company, which represents also AZA INT’s Client.
The building is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2017, and it will achieve a place in the most desirable condominiums of the Art Galleries District block.
