The approved development is a 14-story, 143-apartment residential project located at the intersection of Herald Street and Shawmut Avenue in the hearth of Sahwmut residential area. The development would preserve and incorporate the street-facing facade of an existing six-story, 70,000-square-foot brick-and-beam South End office building, which would be partially demolished.
Amenities at 112 Shawmut Avenue would include a 14th floor rooftop deck and amenity space and a 9th floor rooftop terrace, both offering sweeping views of the Boston skyline. Select 7th floor residences would have private balconies and rooftop terraces.
AZA INT, thanks to the partnership with Cheviot Corporation, will introduce in the Bostonian market the quality of the European manufacture, with the unitized curtain wall in the external facade and the window wall for the inside courtyard facade.
